Aussies in WNBA: Whitcomb finds form for Seattle
Rebecca Allen’s New York Liberty suffered a loss against Connecticut Sun, going down by 5 points (94-89). Allen wasn’t given much of a run, only seeing 1:56 court time. Tina Charles did all she could for the Liberty with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists, but it wasn’t enough to combat an impressive Connecticut outfit.
It was the Aussie trio at Phoenix who were successful over Sami Whitcomb’s Seattle Storm, with the Mercury coming out as 3-point winners in a nail biter. Steph Talbot gave an impressive performance for the Mercury, being relied upon for a solid 28 minutes of game time. She totaled 5 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Leilani Mitchell was also reliable as usual, with 5 points for the match. Cayla George found it a bit more difficult, with 3 rebounds and committing 5 fouls during the game. It was Phoenix’s Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi who were the heroes, both making 25 points each and Griner taking 9 rebounds and 3 assists.

More positively was Whitcomb’s performance, who managed 8 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist for the match.
