Aussies in NBA: Mills finds his form against Lakers
Patty Mills snapped out of his January shooting slump against the Lakers, as his Spurs cruised to the 108-95 victory.
Its been a tough month for Mills who has only reached the double figure scoring mark once in his past nine outings, seeing his field goal percentage and scoring average plummet.
Today he rediscovered some of his mojo, finishing with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting (a perfect 3-of-3 from 3-point), 2 assists, 4 rebounds and 0 turnovers in 18 minutes.
When Mills saw the Lakers coming up on the schedule it must have given him a shot of confidence. Mills had his best game of the season the last time these two teams met when he scored his season high 22 points.
Despite his recently slump he didn't force anything and picked his spots beautifully. He shot the 3 when he was open, drove to the basket when defenders closed hard and he moved the ball to find better shots for teammates, either directly or indirectly.
In short, he let the game come to him and he ran the team.
Its been a pretty good season overall for Mills, who is now one of the better backup guards and 3-point shooters in the league.
Patty now has 10 games this season with 3+ three-pointers off the bench, tied for third-most in the @NBA this year.
