Aussies in NBA: Ingles gets physical, heats up from deep
When you think of players most likely to get in a tussle under the rim, names such as J.R Smith, DeMarcus Cousins and Matt Barnes come to mind. The name Joe Ingles does not. This made it all the more interesting to see Ingles pick up a technical foul against the New Orleans Pelicans today.
After forcing the Pelicans to call a timeout with a corner three, Ingles continued to harass the team and clearly get under their skin. Toney Douglas was frustrated, pushed Ingles and then Alexis Ajinca came over and got involved for no real reason. It was good to see Ingles wanting no part in it and not escalating the situation further. Having said that, he did stand up for himself by not taking a backwards step. Scroll down to see the footage in the highlights package.
In typical Joe Ingles style he brushed aside the incident after the game.

Jingles was heavily involved in today's contest, making the most of his 11 minutes of game time. His spacing was good and was able to find his spots, going 3/3 from beyond the arc. He finished with 9 points, 1 rebound and 1 turnover.

After what has been a pretty lean couple of weeks, this game will provide Ingles with some confidence to keep taking his shots. His first 3-pointer against the Pelicans today was his first points since November 15.
It's great to see that even in a scoring drought, coach Quin Snyder kept the faith in Ingles and played him every game, even if only for a few minutes. Jingles always finds a way to repay the faith shown in him.
