Aussies in NBA: Dellavedova stays aggressive in Cavs first preseason win
The Cleveland Cavaliers finally won their first preseason game, by securing a 103-97 victory against the Dallas Mavericks. Matthew Dellavedova scored 5 of 11 field goals in 25 minutes of playing time, recording 13 points overall, along with 2 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 turnover (box score).
Delly showed supreme confidence in his shot this game. There was no hesitation in pulling the trigger whenever he was open for the three-pointer, and made 3 of his 5 shots from beyond the arc. Dellavedova is definitely in a comfortable shooting rhythm right now. After going 0 for 3 in the preseason opener, the guard has warmed up and made 9 of 15 threes in the last 5 games.
The highlight Delly play of this game was definitely this sequence. Dellavedova picked the pass off, went on a one-man fast break, and finished the layup with impressive ease, creating ample space between the defender and himself for an easy layup.
