Aussies in NBA: Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid is going to be fun!
The long awaited debut of 2016 #1 pick, Ben Simmons is nearing closer.
With the emergence of Joel Embiid as a legitimate rising star of the NBA, coupled with Simmons in the line-up, the Sixers will be an even more exciting and fascinating team to watch.
Embiid has captured the attention of NBA fans with his impressive play, but also his personality and the way he goes about his business.
Exhibit A.

The Philadelphia fans have suffered through 'The Process' for many years, but when Simmons joins Embiid on the floor, that suffering will be a distant memory.
The 7-foot centre, paired with Simmons, the 6'10" point guard, could prove to be a deadly combination for many years to come. As well as being deadly, these 2 rookies developing together will provide plenty of entertainment for NBA fans.
The home crowd in Philly has been going bananas lately as the Sixers are 5-1(!) over their last 6 games. When Simmons makes his home debut, those fans will be loving every second.
Simmons joined his Philly teammates on road trips a couple of weeks back, and has been stepping up his workload slowly but surely. Obviously, Philly will be extremely cautious with Simmons, and he won't be suiting up unless he is 100% ready to go.
Earlier this week, there was speculation that Simmons may have been aiming to make his debut against the Houston Rockets on January 27th, but coach Brett Brown quashed those rumours emphatically.

Whilst Simmons hasn't been able to play in the first half of the season, he has been working on all facets of his game, with shooting being a major area of focus.

According to ESPN's Chris Haynes, Simmons is expected to make his NBA debut shortly after the All-Star break.
For Aussie and Philly basketball fans alike, the day Simmons finally makes his NBA debut will be a memorable one!
