Aussies in NBA: Bairstow shows scoring touch against Timberwolves
Chicago Bulls big man Cameron Bairstow played 17 minutes today, recording 11 points on 5/6 shooting, including a baseline three-pointer along with 3 rebounds in the 114-105 preseason victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves (box score).
The forward entered the game and the end of the first quarter, and made his mark in the second. Bairstow was moving actively without the ball, and did his best to get open for scoring opportunities. The big man found himself with the ball on a couple of occasions, and scored a layup, followed by a jumper later.
Bairstow did his best on defense as well, but was whistled for a foul while defending Minnesota rookie Tyus Jones. He showed a more credible attempt at protecting the rim later on in the third quarter, disrupting Shabazz Muhammad's layup and collecting the rebound right after.
