Andrew Bogut aims to round Boomers journey out in Tokyo 2020
"(Yes), if the body's holding up. That's the big question."
This was Andrew Bogut's response, when asked if the Australian Boomers' Tokyo 2020 campaign would be on the cards for him.
"I feel pretty fresh, believe it or not. Thankfully it wasn't a joint injury," Bogut told RSN radio, as reported by AAP's Warren Barnsley.
"The one positive over breaking a leg, if there is such a thing, is it heals stronger than it was before you broke it.
"I reckon once this heals, I should be good to go and hopefully I've got three or four years left in me."
The possibility of having a healthy Andrew Bogut with a talented Boomers core, is tantalising. The Boomers came close to a medal in their last Olympics run in Rio.
Adding established NBA players in Dante Exum, Ben Simmons, Thon Maker and Jonah Bolden to a veteran Boomers roster, and a multi-faceted leader in Bogut, could very well get Australia a medal when the 2020 Summer Olympics roll around in Tokyo.
Bogut told RSN Breakfast Club, that he is aiming to get a shorter deal on the NBA side of things.
"You've got to wait it out. I'm happy to do a shorter term deal and squeeze a few more years out."

There has been no indication on Bogut's prospective teams, outside of his desire to sign with a winning team, and consideration on team fit.
The Boston Celtics, who made a big splash in free agency by signing star forward Gordon Hayward, have signed fellow Boomer Aron Baynes, but could still use a healthy Bogut as a part of their front court.
The Houston Rockets similarly, look to be a solid contender after acquiring Chris Paul in a multi-player trade, and could be a possibility. They have signed center NenĂª Hilario, and Bogut could help bolster their depth.
