Finally injury free, Alanna Smith is relishing her opportunity with the Lightning and reminding everyone of just how good she really is.

Alanna Smith’s season got off to a rough start when she fouled out in less than 16 minutes of action in her long-awaited WNBL debut for the Adelaide Lightning, but since that game she has found her groove in the league and looking every bit of the dominant player Adelaide could’ve hoped for.

The partnership between Smith and Adelaide is exactly what both parties needed. Smith needed a club that would allow her to showcase her game after a couple of years of largely sitting on the sidelines due to injuries and being unable to crack into rotations. Meanwhile, Adelaide – after struggling last season – needed a post player who could control the paint and compliment the play of Steph Talbot.

Through the early parts of the season, both Smith and Adelaide are making plenty of noise.
