Adel, McDowell-White's Rockets secure Summer League win against Jazz
Deng Adel go the start for the Summer League Houston Rockets once more, together with fellow Aussie William McDowell-White. The Rockets won 87-78 against the Utah Jazz.
Adel started the game strong, finishing an isolation possession with a drive and and-one.

Adel also displayed excellent instincts and vertical, when he closed out on a three-pointer against George King and blocked the shot attempt in the second quarter.

Adel consistently found space for his driving lanes, but had difficulty finishing at the rim. The forward ended the game with 9 points (3/10 FG, 2/5 3P), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in 30 minutes. He currently averages 5.3 points, 1.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds in Summer League.
Despite playing only 4:43, McDowell-White managed to record 1 rebound, 3 assists, 3 steals, with no field goals attempted. He controlled the court tempo well, finding passing lanes for scoring opportunities. The point guard also played solid defence, causing turnovers and and securing an offensive rebound to extend a possession.
Isaac Humphries played 8:34 against the Sacramento Kings. The big man had a cold shooting night from the perimeter, scoring 3 points (1/5 FG, 1/4 3P). He also had 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks. The Los Angeles Clippers came back from a half-time deficit that stretched to 12 points in the second quarter, and won the game 83-80.
Duop Reath's Brooklyn Nets (7th) and Mitch Creek's Minnesota Timberwolves (3rd) will enter the new 8-team tournament bracket.
The single-elimination tournament tips off on Saturday, July 13, at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The tournament will culminate in a championship game on Monday, July 16 at 6 p.m. PT.
Saturday’s tournament slate features four quarterfinal games. The top-seeded Celtics tip off the day when they take on the Grizzlies at 1:30 p.m. PT at the Thomas & Mack Center, followed by the Pelicans and Heat (3:30 p.m. PT), Detroit and Brooklyn (5:30 p.m. PT) and Minnesota and Dallas (7:30 p.m. PT).
The 24 teams who did not qualify for the tournament will each play a consolation game, tipping off Friday, July 12, at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion and conclude Saturday, July 13 at Cox Pavilion.
Each of the 32 teams played four games apiece since the event tipped off on July 5, with the results of those games determining the tournament seeding. Seeding for the tournament was determined by win-loss records, with ties being broken using quarter-points followed by point differential.
