NBL 2015 Blitz schedule announced

The NBL’s pre-season Blitz is set to take place in late September, and will be hosted at the Townsville RSL Stadium. Conducted over six days, the preseason tournament will feature twelve games in total, two each day.

The Cairns Taipans will match up against the Perth Wildcats as part of the opening night act. The other opening game will see hometown favourites, Townsville Crocodiles play against reigning champions, the New Zealand Breakers.

The Blitz scoring system will dictate the winning team and MVP, with the Loggins-Bruton Cup awarded to the former, and the Ray Borner Medal, the latter.

Much like the last Blitz held in Queensland, the NBL promises plenty of entertainment for the fans.

“The NBL Blitz is set to provide something for everybody – we’re currently organising extra entertainment and activations for all fans attending, so everyone will know that the NBL is in town and want to be part of what we are doing,” NBL general manager, Jeremy Loeliger enthused.

Townsville Crocs general manager, Robert Honan has expressed confidence in local support for the upcoming event, and is looking forward to welcoming Australian basketball fans.

“We have worked closely with the Townsville Enterprise to ensure that local residents and tourists will have a fantastic basketball experience, and on top of competitive ticket prices to the NBL Blitz sessions there are a number of discounted accommodation packages for anyone travelling from out of town,” he said.

It's all about Banner 18. And our Aussies in the NBA. And selfless passes. And hard cuts. And defense. Andddd this is where I stop before I get too carried away. Really, it's all about this beautiful sport we know and love as basketball.
