Madgen lands in Belgium, signs with Verviers-Pepinster
Former Sydney Kings guard Ben Madgen was today announced as one of five new signings by Verviers-Pepinster in Belgium's premier Scooore League (Division 1).
The former August State (NCAA) graduate and 2011 Australian National Basketball League (NBL) Rookie of the Year had previously made it known he intended to play in Europe for the 2015/16 season, opting out of his final year of his contract with the Kings. However many would not have predicted he would end up in Belgium.

The Wolves, as Madgen's new side are known by, have ambitions to improve on their 0-2 quarterfinal exit in 2015 at the hands of eventual champions and Eurocup side Telenet BC Oostende. They have loaded up on talent for next season, with Madgen a key addition to the roster.
After producing an impressive 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2 assists per game in the NBL last season, Madgen is also well-known for his aggressive defense. Madgen's rise culminated in representing Australia in the 2014 Sino-Australian games.
Madgen is sure to become a fan favourite in Belgium as he looks to embark on his first contract in Europe. This is something his former coach Damian Cotter thoroughly endorses.
