Jonah Bolden reportedly Israel-bound with Maccabi Tel Aviv

It sounds like Jonah Bolden will not be in a Philadelphia 76ers jersey next season.

According to journalist David Pick, the Sixers have negotiated for Bolden's release from Red Star, and are looking to stash the young rookie with Israel's Maccabi Tel Aviv instead.

Maccabi Tel Aviv isn't a new destination for Aussies. Australian Boomer and current Utah Jazz swingman, Joe Ingles had previously played with Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2013, winning the 2013/14 EuroLeague championship that season with former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach, David Blatt.

According to Liberty Ballers, Red Star was struggling both as a team and on a financial footing. Maccabi Tel Aviv in comparison, looks like a better destination for Bolden. The club is sound financially, and is a more competitive team. NBA prospect Pierre Jackson, who last played in the D-League, is set to join the team this season along with Deshaun Thomas, who last played at Anadolu Efes, the new team of Australian Boomer Brock Motum.

Bolden had an excellent run in the Summer League games, and showed himself to be an exciting prospect for the 76ers. His defensive aggressiveness, ability to shoot from the three-point arc, and passing vision, set him apart from the typical big man. Bolden could very well succeed as a modern stretch five in the NBA.

Philadelphia head coach, Brett Brown had confirmed the team were reconsidering their options with Bolden, after Bolden's standout performances.

The team might have made up their mind on stashing Bolden for now, and moving ahead with their current roster.

The Sixers have not released an official statement on this transaction.
