EuroView: Allen with another Angelic performance
In Slovakia, Rebecca Allen’s Good Angels Kosice dominated BAM Poprad to win 88-41. Leading the Slovakian league with 13 straight wins under their belt, Good Angels are in a healthy position as they look to claim the entire league. Allen was instrumental with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, accompanied by 3 assists and 4 steals.
Returning back to the Polish league, AZS UMCS of Lublin claimed a victory over the bottom-ranked TS Ostrovia. In an even spread for Lublin, Australian Tess Madgen scored 5 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.
Hatay secured a win in the Turkish league over Istanbul University at 66-52. It was a good day in the office for Hatay as they knocked off a team higher ranked than themselves. Natalie Hurst controlled the game with another 40 minute display at the point, scoring 7 points.
Capping off a solid week, Hatay also managed a win in EuroLeague against CCC Polkowice at 58-54. Hurst was one of Hatay’s best with 10 points and 3 assists as she helped save the game in the final moments.

In Russia, Dynamo Moscow put up a valiant effort against the dominant Dynamo Kursk, eventually losing 89-56. Considering Kursk are filled with WNBA stars Nneka Ogwumike and Angel McCoughtry, the result proves an improvement for Moscow with a respectable margin. Katie-Rae Ebzery totalled 7 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists, while Alex Bunton made 8 points for the game.
Even with Nicole Romeo’s top scoring effort for her side Campus Promete with 22 points and 4 assists, she couldn’t help them deliver a win over Zamarat as they went down by 4 points at 71-67. It was an upset loss for Campus Promete and ended their four-game winning streak as they were outclassed by a team that provided a far better even spread of contributions.
In the Hungarian league, first-position Uniqa Sopron suffered a crucial loss to third placed UNI Gyor. Going down 85-75, Sopron will still maintain their top position but will need to work on their execution to go all the way. Cayla George totalled 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists in an impressive effort, but it wasn’t enough to take the win.
