European offers mount for Ryan Broekhoff as he waits for NBA opportunity
As Ryan Broekhoff awaits a potential first NBA contract in the US, the multi-year European offers continue to mount up for the sharpshooting Australian.
Already on the table was a 2-year deal with Russian side Khimki Moscow, and now he is also reported to be considering a 3-year deal with another EuroLeague side in Anadolu Efes Istanbul.

Broekhoff has worked out for a number of NBA teams during the off-season, including the Milwaukee Bucks, New Orleans Pelicans and Brooklyn Nets, with Brooklyn showing the most interest according to Eurohoops.net.

With Anadolu Efes' reported deal an additional 1 year longer and containing NBA out clauses, it appears that the Turkish side has become the front-runner for Broekhoff's services should an NBA deal not eventuate.
Broekhoff has also previously played in Turkish before, spending his first two fruitful years as a professional with Besiktas where he quickly became a fan favourite and Turkish League All-Star. Anadolu Efes is also the same club for which fellow 2016 Rio Olympian Brock Motum played for throughout the 2017/18 European season.
A devastating three-point marksman, Broekhoff excelled as Lokomotiv Kuban’s leading scorer this season before a broken thumb saw his EuroCup and VTB United League season ended prematurely. His return was bungled by his club, despite being declared fit. He averaged a team-best 12.3 points with 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 26.6 minutes per game, shooting a remarkable 50.6% from beyond the arc as the 6th man off the bench, also winning the VTB United League three-point contest at their 2018 All-Star game.
Having come out of contract from Lokomotiv at season's end, the time appears right for Broekhoff to make the jump to the NBA, much like Utah Jazz star Joe Ingles before him. Measuring 6’7 and a deadly shooter, Broekhoff fits the modern-day “3 and D” archetype, yet also offers exceptional rebounding as a wing.

If and NBA deal does not materialise soon, Broekhoff will likely accept the deal with Anadolu Efes, gaining the security of a three-year deal and play in the best league outside the NBA.
