It’s too early to tell, if we might be seeing Thon Maker in another NBA jersey.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, league sources shared that Thon Maker’s representative has reached out to the Milwaukee Bucks, and would like Maker to be traded to another franchise that could offer better opportunities.

The Pick and Roll’s Ben Mallis also discussed the ongoing struggles Maker has had on the Bucks to date, as far as playing time and roster fit is concerned.

These comments give the impression that Maker is firmly outside Milwaukee’s regular rotation. When Budenholzer feels his team needs a jolt of energy, he can rely on Maker to provide it, but that is representative of a player who will play in spurts and not on a nightly basis. The Bucks are fully fit and Maker is feeling the squeeze.

Thon Maker has been a casualty of the Bucks’ league-leading performance. This is especially true, with Brook Lopez firmly entrenched as the team’s starting centre, and Maker having very limited runs in his role as a reserve five man, despite his knack for big energy plays.

The Pick and Roll’s Kane Pitman had also written Maker’s explosive performance against the Jazz earlier this month, where he had 15 points and 5 rebounds.

“We won the game because of him. He brought energy, he played hard, he made shots, he was talking to everybody, it was just amazing just seeing Thon competing hard out there,” Antetokounmpo said.

Stay tuned as the Thon Maker discussion continues.

It's all about Banner 18. And our Aussies in the NBA. And selfless passes. And hard cuts. And defense. Andddd this is where I stop before I get too carried away. Really, it's all about this beautiful sport we know and love as basketball.
