John Calipari and Bill Self expected in Indiana to watch Isaac Humphries
La Lumiere's Thursday night game against Wasatch Academy (UT) was expected to be an exciting affair, not only because it's a chance to see 2 quality teams go at it, but also because all proceeds from the game will be donated to the Mary Kline Cancer Foundation.
The occasion has now taken another step up, with Kentucky's John Calipari and Kansas' Bill Self expected to be in attendance to watch Australia's 2016 big-man Isaac Humphries.
Isaac Humphries
Humphries had been receiving interest from both schools but Thursday night will mark the first time that either head coach will see him in play in person.
Representatives from Duke, Arizona, NC State and Utah were also expected to be in attendance but they've reportedly finding trouble getting to the La Porte, IN campus due to weather.
Humphries broke-out as a top recruit after an impressive showing for the Australian national squad at the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship in Dubai. The 7-footer averaged an impressive 18.9 ppg (58% FG, 83% FT), 11.6 rpg, 1.6 apg and 3.3 bpg – highlighted by his record-setting 41 pt effort against Canada. Humphries also led the tournament in efficiency with a staggering 25.6 EFFPG.
Kansas, Arizona, Oregon and Illinois are among those who have already offered Humphries.
The game will be streamed live here, or you can watch the game below. Tip-off is at 7pm CST (12pm AEDT).
