This is absolutely massive news for the NBL and obviously the Sydney Kings.
Bogut was drafted #1 overall in the 2005 NBA Draft and won an NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2015. Whilst he has struggled with injury throughout his career, there is a strong case to say that his NBA career is currently unmatched by any Australian.
Bogut had been hinting at signing in the NBL for some time and earlier tonight he set tongues wagging with this post.
Are there any roster spots left for the upcoming @NBL season? Asking for a friend......?

And then this followed soon after.
Bucket list: Bridge climb.

He will be the face of the NBL, not just the Sydney Kings. He is Australian sporting royalty and a household name - a signing of this magnitude is just another example of how far the NBL has come in recent years.
For the Kings, it means more than just ticket sales (which will skyrocket), it shows that they absolutely mean business on the court - if he can stay healthy.
The Kings have struggled to put together a roster that is capable of contending in recent years, but with Bogut now signing it signals a new era for the club.
Bogut, Jerome Randle and Kevin Lisch will give opposition team's fits on both ends of the court.
