The 33-year old guard having just been released from his contract with Lieutuvos Rytas, immediately signing with he new club Crailsheim.
Having played the last two years in Lithuania with two of the best teams in Lietkabelis and most recently Lietuvos Rytas, last season Madgen averaged 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game in the EuroCup. He also would go on to play an integral role as his side placed second in the Lithuanian national league behind EuroLeague side Zalgiris Kaunas who were crowned champions.
Madgen joins the Merlins who were one of the most dominant teams in the German Pro A (second division) last season, earning promotion to the Bundesliga for 2018/19. The addition of Madgen bolsters the roster for the Merlins as they look to consolidate their place in the top German division, adding veteran leadership and a scoring spark.
In signing with the Merlins, it dispels unsubstantiated rumours that Madgen was set to return to Australia to play for the Sydney Kings in the NBL.
