The Australian Boomers will soon travel to Perth to tackle Team Canada in two of the biggest basketball games ever to be played in Western Australia. These two games will take centre stage at the RAC Arena, but they aren’t the only noteworthy basketball events happening in Perth during August.
On the evening of Wednesday 14 August, The Pick and Roll’s Ben Mallis is hosting a special basketball fundraiser event at Embargo Bar in Perth in support of Youth Focus WA.
Ben has invited special guests from the international basketball industry to join him on stage for a night of hoops talk as they preview the Boomers upcoming World Cup campaign. The discussion will also revolve around the NBA, NBL and life in the professional basketball industry from those who have lived it all around the world. Be prepared to hear about Ben’s travels in North America following Ben Simmons, Jonah Bolden and the Philadelphia 76ers up close over the past twelve months.
Proceeds from every ticket sold to the event will be donated to Youth Focus WA to aid in their efforts to brighten the futures of young people in Western Australia. There will also be raffles for special giveaways and much more on the night. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased via EventBrite (link).
Attendees will include past and present NBL players, coaches and scouts with experience working in global leagues including the NBA, plus a slew of international media members from the likes of Fox Sports Australia, ESPN Australia and many others.
This promises to be a fun night of basketball discussion ahead of one of the biggest months in the history of the Australian Boomers program.
