With less than 100 days to go until the 2019 FIBA World Cup tips off in China on 31 August, the start times for or all 92 games have now been confirmed.
Due to Australia’s proximity to China, basketball fans downunder are in for a treat, with all games commencing no earlier than 5:30pm AEST, and no game starting any later than 10:30pm AEST in the evening.

Angola and Serbia will play the first game on August 31 at 3:30pm local time.

While Angola and Serbia will open the tournament on 31 August, Australia will face world number 23 ranked Canada in their opening Group H contest on the second day of the event. An Australian-friendly tip-off time of 5:30pm AEST has been confirmed for the important Sunday, 1 September fixture.
Australia have been drawn in what is widely regarding the “Group of Death”, with the world ranked number 11 Boomers scheduled to then take on number 37 Senegal on Tuesday, 3 September also at 5:30pm AEST. They then take on world number 6 Lithuania in a blockbuster contest on Thursday, 5 September at 9:30pm AEST to close out the group stage in a contest that is likely to determine their tournament fate.
The game times of the second round will be announced at the end of the first round, while the game times of the Semi-Finals will be announced after the Quarter-Finals
The Boomers went close to securing a first ever medal at any major event at the 2016 Rio Olympics, going down to Spain in the bronze medal playoff in controversial circumstances. The heartbreak of Rio has been simmering, and the World Cup is the first opportunity for the Boomers to make amends starting with Canada and Australian fans can support their national team with prime-time viewing, with every Boomers game broadcast via Foxtel on Fox Sports or online via subscription to livebasketball.tv.
The 32-team event concludes on Sunday, 15 September, with the Final scheduled for 10:00pm AEST in Beijing’s Wukesong Sports Arena.
