Aussies in Summer League: Utah extends offer to Motum
It looks like the Brock Motum show did the trick after all. The Utah Jazz have apparently extended a deal to forward Brock Motum, and all that remains is for the decision to be made.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obMQ0eRh6DI According to Angus Crawford of NBA Australia, the Jazz coaching staff like Motum's efforts displayed during his latest Summer League stint, and have offered a partially guaranteed contract. Further details on the contract are unknown at this point.
Motum is currently weighing his options, and is deciding between the Jazz deal, and other Europe offers that have trickled in.
It's not hard to imagine that Europe would likely offer more security, seeing as the Jazz's offer is still a partially-guaranteed contract that still might result in Motum being waived, similar to what happened last season.
On the other hand, adding Motum to the Jazz roster would mean having a total of three Australians on the team. That would definitely add a lot of Australian support for Salt Lake City, and a chance to see Motum showing his skills on the bright lights of the NBA at long last.
