Aussies in NBA: Sobey debuts, Creek scores first Summer League points
Last season's NBL Most Improved Player Nathan Sobey shrugged off his general soreness to make his long anticipated NBA Summer League debut in Utah's 63-72 defeat to Portland.
Adelaide teammate Mitch Creek also recorded a significant highlight in the same game, scoring his first Summer League points for the Jazz.
'Nate' Sobey (as they refer to him in the NBA) played nine minutes and only registered a solitary steal, while shooting 0-5 from the field. Creek played 10 minutes for four points on 2-3 shooting.
While Sobey struggled offensively, this was bound to happen having been on the sidelines for a little while before having to adapt to the NBA gameplay.
Creek was much more influential, mostly on the defensive end, disrupting a number of Portland players, most notably RJ Hunter.
