Aleks Maric signs in Spain with Obradoiro
Aleks Maric will play for his 6th club in less than 2 years, signing to play the remainder of the 2015-16 season with Spanish ACB side Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro CAB as announced by his agent Misko Raznatovic on twitter.
Maric's move comes after his current Montenegrin side, Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, bowed out of the Adriatic League finals.

The 32-year old has been a model of consistency for Buducnost this season in playing in the Adriatic League, effectively reigniting his career on a 1-year deal after drifting from team to team as a little-used role player coming off the bench throughout 2014-15. As the starting center for his Montenegrin side, Maric helped Buducnost to an impressive 23-3 regular season record and outright first place in the Adriatic League. Despite entering the semifinals as the favourites, Maric's side were upset by 4th placed Mega Leks in straight games to bow out of the competition. Maric finished the season after delivering 9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, earning the Adriatic League Player of the Week award back in October.

Buducnost and Maric also competed in the 2015-16 Eurocup season, earning a 4-6 regular season record to finish in 5th place in Group D. Despite not advancing to the round of 32, Maric averaged 6 points and 4.9 rebounds across his 10 Eurocup games.
Before stabilising his career at Buducnost, Maric travelled far and wide during the 2014/15 season. He played with 2014 Euroleague champions Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv where he posted 3.8 rebounds in 6 outings in the Israeli league. He moved to Turkish power Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul momentarily, posting averages of just 1 point and 1.7 rebounds across 3 games. In playing for these two Euroleague teams, he logged 15 games for averages of 2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9:20 minutes per game.
Seeking to increase his playing time, Maric moved to Petrochimi Bandar Imam Harbour in the Iranian Superleague. In 8 games, he was able to lift his production to 9.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. With the improved showing, Maric was snapped up by 2015 Eurocup runner-up Herbalife Gran Canaria as the Spanish side made a run at the Liga Endesa (ACB) title. While they bowed out of contention, he was able to deliver 3 points and 4.2 rebounds in his 5 games played.
Maric returns to the Liga Endesa (ACB) after a season with CB Granada in 2008-09 and his short stint with Gran Canaria last season. He was also recently named to the Australian Boomers preliminary squad of 26 for the 2016 Olympic Games. His addition bolsters Obradoiro's front court, with his new side languishing in 16th position in the ACB with a paltry 7-19 record.
