Motum with a career-high, Broekhoff lands full court heave
Brock Motum delivered one of his best offensives outputs in his career in a narrow loss in EuroLeague, while Ryan Broekhoff landed a full court heave to beat the buzzer in EuroCup action.
BC Zalgiris Kaunas took on European powerhouse FC Barcelona Lassa in Round 5 of the EuroLeague, and despite a massive performance by Brock Motum, came up 6 points short (86-92).
Motum was nothing short of outstanding, going a super-impressive 11/12 from the field, including 4/5 from beyond the arc in delivering a new career EuroLeague high 26 points. In leading all scorers, Motum's blistering offensive onslaught enabled Zalgiris to take it right up to their more fancied opponents. Barcelona needed make their free throws down the stretch to hold off a plucky challenge.
The 6'10 forward has carried on his impressive Olympic form into the EuroLeague season, lifting his average to 15 points per game while shooting 53.3% from long-range and 66.7% inside the arc.

In what was a battle of former EuroCup champions, Lokomotiv Kuban continued their indifferent start to the 2016/16 season with a challenging 64-73 loss to Valencia.
Ryan Broekhoff has been struggling with his shooting stroke so far this season, and only saw 16 minutes of action. Defensively, Broekhoff has been his usual, reliable self, however his three-point shooting has been sorely missed to date. However one of the highlights of the game and the round was a full-court heave from Broekhoff that found the bottom of the net as the three-quarter time siren sounded.
