Big V 2015: Bulleen women secure import Taylor Hall
Bulleen Boomers State Championship women’s side have completed their 2015 Big V roster with the signing of import Taylor Hall.
Hall, a 6’1” forward, is just 22 years of age but has already put together an impressive resume through four years at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, from where she graduated last year.
In the 2013/14 college season, her senior year, Hall averaged 15ppg, 8.6rpg and 4.5apg on her way to being named Southern Conference Female Athlete of the Year.
She also became the first Southern Conference player to be selected as league Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Southern Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player all in the same year.
Her success earned an invitation to a Seattle Storm WNBA training camp, where she was eventually cut before signing with CCC Polkowice in Poland for their 2014/15 season.
Hall will add plenty to a young Boomers side who look to be around the finals mark in 2015, with her ability to play a number of positions pleasing for Head Coach Matt Paps.
“We’re very excited to have somebody of the calibre of Taylor on our team for the rest of the season.
“She has WNBA training experience and has played overseas and we think she will make her mark on the competition.”
The Boomers have recorded a win and a loss over the opening fortnight of the season, with coach Paps looking for Hall to elevate his side to the next level.
“Her ability to play positions one to five will be huge, and her rebounding and defence is what we are looking for to help us grow this season.”
Hall is due to arrive in Australia before round three, with the club awaiting her clearance before she takes the court.
