Angus Brandt joins Brock Motum in Lithuania
2014/15 NBL Rookie of the Year Angus Brandt has signed with Lithuanian side BC Neptūnas Klaipeda for the remainder of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) season. The Sydney Kings big man joins fellow Australian Brock Motum who also plays in the LKL with BC Zalgiris Kaunas. His signing also follows those of Chris Goulding and Cameron Gliddon who also recently agreed to deals in Europe.
Brandt enjoyed a solid season in the 2015/16 NBL season with the Kings, posting 8.1 points (51.8% FG) and 5.3 rebounds in 19.1 minutes per game on his way to being named his side's Most Inspirational Player. His impact was only limited by the return of Julian Khazzouh to the side who took his place in the starting lineup at the start of the season. However the 26-year-old Oregon State graduate managed to impress once Khazzouh succumbed to injury, grabbing the opportunity to shine.

As a big man who is able to drain the three-ball, Brandt has previously represented Australia at the 2011 World University Games and the senior national team in the 2014 Sino series played against China. In signing with BC Neptūnas, it will be Brandt's first professional contract outside of Australia.
BC Neptūnas are currently battling to maintain their place in the top 4 in the LKL, boasting a 14-12 record (4th). They made the move to add Brandt to bolster their front court following the departure of big man Gilvydas Biruta. As a Eurocup participant this season, BC Neptūnas finished in 4th place in Group J and were unable to progress to the Eighth Finals.
